What happens during the project?

Publications on barn conversion

The main outcome of Barn Culture will be two publications on barn conversion designs co-created by architects and artists.
- A3 and A4 formats,
- 30-50 pages
- electronic and print format
- 4 languages: English, German, Hungarian, Romanian

Artworks in barns

Each of the 12 artist of our three country-teams create a contemporary artwork in a barn space. Their photodocumentation will be used for further exhibitions and our Pulication on barn designs.

International meeting

An international meeting in Kápolnásnyék, Hungary will provide the opportunity to present each of the barn conversion designs produced by the creative teams for mutual inspiration.

Events

A number of events organised in each participating country help spread the word on the importance of barn conversions. These events will be accompanied by exhibition materials produced from the artworks and the barn conversion designs elaborated during the project.

Study visit

Key team members visited the area of the German project partner to learn about best practices of barn conversions, newest technologies used and they visited a number of converted (and to be converted) barns.

Exhibitions

There will be a number of exhibitions organised in each participating region. Thematics are based on the artworks of artists as well as the barn conversion designs produced by the creative teams.
